Silent auction items that raise the most money

After twenty years staging silent auctions for galas, golf classics and school nights, the pattern barely changes: a room bids on pieces it recognizes, priced so everyone in it can win something.

Framed signed memorabilia staged for a silent auction table

Lead with signed sports memorabilia

Signed jerseys, baseballs, bats, helmets and framed photo displays are the most reliable lots we bring into a room. They are instantly recognizable, they photograph well on a table, and a framed piece with an engraved plate reads as worth more than the same signature in a plastic sleeve.

Match the athletes to your honorees and your city. A signed piece connected to the person being celebrated on stage will outbid a bigger name nobody in the room has a reason to care about.

Price in three tiers, not one

A table full of headline lots stalls. Most of the money at a silent auction comes from the middle, so we build every program in tiers.

  • Entry lots — designer sunglasses, signed balls and photos that let guests win something on the first pass.
  • Middle lots — framed jerseys, signed guitars, jewelry and handbags where competitive bidding actually happens.
  • Headline lots — one-of-one commissions, travel and golf packages, and the piece tied to the honoree.

Bring more variety than sports alone

Half of a black-tie room does not follow sports. Signed guitars and drumheads, film posters, signed art, fine jewelry and watches, designer handbags and resort or golf trips all pull bids from guests who would otherwise never pick up a pen.

Stage it so the room can see it

Height, light and a clean sight line matter as much as the piece itself. We arrive with easels, cases and display frames, set the tables before doors open, and place the headline lots where traffic naturally slows.

Every piece is authenticated and laser-engraved in house, so a bidder can read exactly what they are buying without asking a volunteer.

How many lots do you need?

Plan on enough lots that guests always have a live option in front of them, weighted toward the entry and middle tiers. We size the program to your guest count and room layout, and we bring inventory on consignment so you are never guessing.
